Welcome to Bishop Vesey's Grammar School

Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School is a voluntary aided, selective state grammar school  which is located in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, serving day students across the city and beyond.

Boys aged 11-18 and girls aged 16-18 make up the 900 students of which 280 are in our Sixth Form. We are a Specialist Language College, Training School  and Sport  England ‘Sportsmark Gold’ centre of excellence, which illustrates the aim of the school to  produce well balanced mature students to embark on their life after school.

WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

David Iddon Headteaccher

Thank you for your interest in Bishop Vesey's Grammar School. We trust that you will find our school to be a lively forward looking and dynamic institution, which leads all who live and work here to a new vision of their potential. Our beliefs, principles and values are central to the culture of our school; and to what has become known as the 'Vesey Experience'.

Students here are expected to aim for academic excellence, get involved in the life of the school and help to maintain the high standards of interpersonal relationships on which we all depend.

Students are challenged to reach for what is beyond their immediate grasp and aspire to great things for the benefit of others.

Bishop Vesey's Grammar School is a community which has the potential to guide young people to become the future leaders in society who will help to redefine and improve the world in which we live.

Through the information in this website, we hope to give you a glimpse of the nature of life at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School.

By far the best way to find out about our school is to come in and meet students and staff. Please feel free to join us on one of our Open Days or to arrange an individual family visit to view the school in action.
