Library
The Library Resource Centre (LRC) is centrally located and is open each school day from 8:25am – 4:00pm.

The LRC aims to meet the information and literacy requirements for the whole school community, in an atmosphere that is conducive to private study, personal and group research and relaxed reading. Great emphasis is placed on helping pupils to develop independent learning skills with all new pupils following a programme of lessons in information literacy. In addition throughout the school year all year groups in a variety of curricular subjects undertake research projects using library resources.

A new web-based library management system “Oliver” was installed in July 2007, the library page and the library catalogue are available across the school network. Fourteen workstations and four wireless laptops provide access to the school network and the Internet. The LRC subscribes to a variety of online resources, six daily newspapers and academic and recreational magazines and journals.

“The excellent library plays an important role in promoting reading both for pleasure and research”- OFSTED
