![]() THE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
• The Association was founded in 1948. • The Association is ‘steered’ by a Council having annually elected members: the PAC. • Council members meet monthly to co-ordinate and facilitate the functions of the Association. • A ‘Helpers List’ also exists for parents that may be able to provide support, on an ad hoc basis, for school/fundraising events and any other functions known to require PAC assistance. Aims • To foster and support the welfare of Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School. • To raise funds for the school. • To provide input for careers advice and assistance. • To bring parents together in social activities. • To be a forum for discussion and action on issues that concern the school. Functions of the Council • The Council generally directs and controls the affairs of the Association including the control and allocation of its funds. • The above affairs typically include the organisation of fundraising activities and events. • The Council supports its members to organise and undertake these activities on behalf of the Association. Contributions to the School • Middle Field - £7,000 • New Sports Hall - £100,000 incl appeal • New Music Centre - £40,000 incl appeal • New Lighting Rig - £13,000 • Audio Visual Equipment - £3,000 • Weather Station - £3,000 • Piano Refurbishment - £2,500 • Travel Scholarships • UCAS & Career Books • First-aid Training • Furniture for Vesey House • Donations to Clubs and Library PAC Membership • All new parents receive automatic membership! • We enthusiastically encourage and invite new members of the PA to join the Council. • Please consider representing your child and their Year Group by either joining the Council or adding your name to our ‘Helpers’ List’.
