Parents’ Association Introduction

BISHOP VESEY’S PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION
Founded 1948

Hopefully you will have heard about us and want to know a little more about what we do. We are the Parents’ Association for Bishop Vesey’s and the good news is that if your child attends the school – you are already a member. Perhaps the most obvious area which we get involved in, is fund raising for the school.  In recent years we have specifically contributed to: –

Prize Giving and Rewards
The Rowing Club
Sixth Form Study Area
IT Infrastructure and Equipment
Tennis Appeal
Classroom Refurbishments
Netball Appeal
Specialist Coaching

Recently, we contributed £15,000 for the purchase of over 30 brand new computers to support the IT equipment and improvement programme currently underway at the school.

We also provide a platform for parents and pupils to network socially by running events throughout the school year.  These include quiz nights, parent welcome nights, fashion shows, balls and the year 7 and 8 school discos in partnership with Sutton Girls Grammar School. All these events help bring parents and pupils together so you become part of the Bishop Vesey’s community.

The PAC is a registered charity No. 1124857 and so can benefit from charitable donations.  If you work for a company please contact your Human Resources department and ask if they make donations to charities or take part in the ‘Match Giving’ scheme.  This scheme enables employees to either raise money through either a sponsored activity like a sponsored swim or by directly supporting the PAC by helping out at an event eg. school disco.  The funds raised are then matched by the company, usually up to a certain limit, then paid directly to PAC.

Other simple ways of supporting the PAC are becoming a member of the PAC 200 Club or registering at www.easyfundraising.org.uk – details and forms available on the website.

With your help, we would like to grow, so we would really like to meet you. The Association meets once a month and we always welcome volunteers to either join the committee or to help at our many events. Attending meetings isn’t a requirement of PAC membership – just providing a few hours per term can make a real difference.

Future events are communicated through the school comms system or posted on the website. Further information can we found by clicking the PAC logo at www.bvgs.co.uk If you are interested or have any questions feel free to contact
